Hi all,

I initially came on to this site to get help on my activiation code being one digit too short and being unable to register it via the app, but reading about Iris more am I right in thinking that it’s not worth the time as Iris seems close to being pulled full stop?

Should I take it and the accessories back for a refund?

Any help would be appreciated

So it looks like the new 2.0 hub does not have a built in timer for the irrigation system. I was told by support this was added a couple weeks ago. Doe anyone with the paid account have access to the new timer?

I’m thinking of switching back to the First Gen hub just for my timer, in time for watering season.

After 4.06r05 (1.31) hub update; a device stops responding to the hub and simply drops out everyday. I have had to remove and install device after device and/or call Iris/Lowes when I simply could not get it back on line. I have nearly 30 devices and they were all working perfectly until 4.06r05 (1.31). Now, no matter what I do … it will not recognize my fob, though it does see my wife’s fob. I’m to the point of dismantling the system and selling it off if I cannot get refunds. This system is simply too buggy and Iris/Lowes is not supporting it adequately. Tell me why we should put up with this poor technology? I’m about to dump it all on eBay and write article after article about how UNRELIABLE Iris is at this point. FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE RETRACT 4.06r05 (1.31) and go back to earlier firmware until you have a working update!!!!

Clearly, you know a great deal more than I do … however here’s what I found out.

My hub glitched yesterday – my fault I think – and I was online with Iris tech at midnight to get my system back on … we couldn’t do it. I left the system on “configuring” all night long and the hub went online sometime in the wee hours of the morning.

While working with the nice tech chick – I asked her about the new hub; she said its about to come out and they are very excited about it … kind of a canned response.

Consumer Demand for Connected Home Products Slows Dramatically in First Half of 2015 and Continues Rapid Drop Off

Interesting read……. it does seems ever since HomeKit/Apple and Smartthings/Google made their big splash over a year ago, it is apparent the rest of the market is just waiting to see what Apple and Google will really do. With no real announcements made at Google I/O and Apple’s WWDC it appears everyone is on the sidelines until this Fall when Apple is rumoured to unveiling the much delayed AppleTV

love, love, love the Iris System Monitor, kudos to the site owner.

In the Iris System monitor do you know which server is the video server? What I seem to have the most issues with is the video portion of the Iris System. I know they are using a third party company to handle their video but I would love to see the up/downtime of the video servers. Thanks.

I learn by just throwing things out into the ether, so here it goes here. Security of the home automation and security network has always been a concern but it is growing as the market expands.

I have heard issues of a hub (z-wave) being forced into secondary mode. The reason given is that the communication on the z-wave is so active that it will force the hub into secondary controller mode. I have only heard one manufacturers hub doing this so I believe it is something in the “backend” of the manufacturers software and they are attempting to push blame onto the z-wave spec/system itself.

My concern is if this is true, this being a z-wave issue then ALL systems using z-wave might be open to attact.

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?
